Draft Minutes of the meeting of the Parish Council held

  1. Public Forum: No residents attended the Public Forum.
  2. 2.0 Apologies for Absence: None.
  3. 3.0 Chairman to welcome Mrs Whitworth to the Parish Council: Cllr Lynch welcomed Mrs Whitworth as a new member of the Parish Council. Cllr Whitworth said how much she was looking forward to contributing to the Village. She then signed her Acceptance and Localism Act forms.
  4. To receive declarations of interest in accordance with the 2011 Local Government Act. –
    personal or prejudicial interest in any items for discussion. None.
  5.  Draft Minutes of the Parish Council meeting held on Thursday 20th January 2022 to be
    approved as the Minutes. These were accepted unanimously.
    5.1 Matters Arising: The Clerk confirmed the pothole on the corner of High Street & Bourne
    Road had been completed and the hedge at the Allotment has now been cut back both
    sides.
    6.0 Councillors Report. County & District Councillor's. LCC Cllr Vernon and SKDC Cllr Robins were both in
    attendance. Cllr Vernon provided an interesting update regarding County matters, a précis
    as follows. Ukraine – The County Council have plans in place to welcome any Ukraine refugees who seek safety in our county, we are collaborating with the Red Cross who are co-ordinating donations of goods and money that are being made. If you would like to register an interest in providing temporary accommodation, please call us on 01522 552222. She also suggested that any requests for road closures for the jubilee should be made as soon as possible.

Road Maintenance Grant - The county council has received a letter confirming its roads maintenance grant allocation for 2022/23 remains £12m less than 2019/20.

British Railways HQ – Lincolnshire County Council and South Kesteven District Council will be putting a joint expression of interest to the Government to host the Great British Railways Headquarters. Grantham not only has a proud railway heritage but is also a key strategic location for rail commuters and travellers, being only just over an hour from London

Local Matters

Fixmystreet – Please do continue to report concerns regarding potholes, or damage to the roads via this website.

Cllr Robins also provided information from SKDC: On the Budget the Government has confirmed the extension of business rate relief to hospitality, leisure, and retail sector. From April parking in Stamford, Bourne and Grantham will increase by 10p per hour. An increase of £5 for annual collection on the green bins.
6.1 Parish Clerk report:
Position at Bank. The Clerk provided details of the accounts to date. These were
accepted. (A copy at the foot of the Minutes)
6.2 Cheques to be signed. Clerks’ salary £265.20, LALC Annual renewal £77.85. Were duly agreed and signed.

7.0 Highways: Cllr Plowright highlighted the increased volume of cars parking on the High Street
and the potential increase in traffic with the new housing development in Corby Glen. The Councillors agreed to keep a watching brief on the situation.
8.0 Correspondence: None.
9.0 AOB: Cllr Lunn highlighted the amount of mud at the Cross Road of Irnham Road and Bourne Road (A151). He asked if the PC would speak with the farmer with a view to cleaning the road.

Date of next meeting: The Annual Meeting of the Parish Council will take place on Thursday 12th May @ 6pm in the Village Hall – it will be followed by the Annual Parish Meeting. All parishioners are welcome to attend.

Fixmystreet – Residents are encouraged to continue to report concerns regarding potholes, flooding, or damage to the roads via the Fixmystreet app.
